Only 46 Seats Left . . . and Counting!

Seats have been filling up fast for the offshore renewable energy conference in the industry – Energy Ocean International.  From a Technology Roundtable on What’s New in Ocean Energy to individual dedicated general sessions on both West and East Coast States Project Development, no wonder we only have a limited amount of seats available!

Take a look at some of the many other sessions the Energy Ocean International Conference has to offer and what your colleagues have been signing up for:

New Patent Strategies For Wind Energy Companies in an Era of Patent Reform
For the first time in sixty years Congress has passed sweeping patent reform legislation, the America Invents Act (AIA). Enacted in September 16, 2011 and being phased in through March 16, 2013, the AIA introduces a number of significant reforms that impact wind companies. These reforms cover patent procurement and patent enforcement. Now two new strategies can be put into play by wind energy companies: fast track examination and contested cases. This session will discuss these new strategies and the surprising result which allow wind energy decision makers and investors to better assess their return on investment (ROI) for significant patent expenditures.

Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion: Economic Feasibility for Electricity Generation
Ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC) is a marine renewable energy technology with the potential to provide base load power to island communities in tropical regions. Large volumes of warm and cold water are required to drive the electricity-producing cycle. This creates a risk, particularly at the warm water intake, for the impingement and entrainment of organisms. This session will present case studies that address the risk factors and benefits of OTEC.

National and Regional Ocean Policy Development
Policy is the connection of advocacy, constituency and funding. This culls together key perspectives on how to be a better advocate, updates on established advocacy groups and planning for the future.

Cost Reduction through Technology
Enabling technologies are key to the offshore renewable energy industry. This session aims to highlight technologies that reduce cost, increase efficiencies and make your life easier!
